FAQ
Posting FAQ
Who can post?
Any registered user can post. Posts are moderated before being published, but it is possible to be upgraded to unmoderated status if you have posted more than five times and adhered to all site terms of use. There is no explicit or implied obligation to provide compensation for contributors.
What can I post?
Posting is reserved exclusively for reviews of concerts you have been to and posts about bands you like. All other posts on other subjects will be deleted without recourse. Reviews should be original submissions (written by the submitter) and not previously published elsewhere.
How do I get started?
Click on the Login link from the home page and then click on “Register” to create an account.
How do I create a new post?
Login and click on the Write tab.
The Title should include the name of the artist/band, the venue of the concert, and the date.
The body of your concert review goes into Post.
The Optional Excerpt is a summary of your post.
Pick the genre of music by selecting the Category.
What information needs to be in the Title?
Some combination of a) the name of the band or artist b) the date of the concert c) the venue
Remember, the Title is your best chance to tell other visitors (and spiders) what’s on the page.
Do I have to edit the post timestamp to the actual day of the concert?
You should, because it will help people find your show. Reviews in prior years are allowed. If you are posting a review from 1992, change the timestamp to 1992.
Here’s how to edit the timestamp: On the Write Post page, in the right column you will see “Publish Immediately” and then the word “Edit.” Just click on “Edit” and adjust the day, month and year to the date of the show.
We reserve the right to edit the timestamp to the date of the show at our discretion.
Do I have to add an optional excerpt?
You should cut a few sentences from your post and paste them into the excerpt. We use them for the summaries on the front page. You can also write the summary instead of cutting and pasting.
Do I have to pick a category?
Yes. The default category is The Vault which readers will understand to mean, “I am too lazy to pick a real category.” You can pick more than one category if it’s appropriate for the show you went to. You can also suggest a category by e-mailing
. Posts will be recategorized at the discretion of the site administrator or site editor.
Is the setlist required?
No, and you should only a post a setlist if you know it to be accurate. Please don’t guess or list the songs out of order.
How long does it take moderated posts to be approved?
Within 24 hours of submission in most cases.
