a blooming pop-indie band from Scotland?, not my genre of choice but they are a fine example from the genre, depth and professionalism evident, all cuties in that fey British look, sound like MusicGod’s Onus B Johnson during one song which is good, lucky to see them free and with free beer so no complaints

swear it was the sound guy from Continental Club I always adore, confirmedly the bassist from Butthole Surfers (JD Pinkus), those trashy goatee beards-glorifying the cursedness of being southern white trash, was enjoying their humor and speedy hard rock but then sang a song called “Don’t put your dick in me”-too genuine honky for me, read an article later that said they were attacked by lesbians after a show who “mistakenly” thought they were homophobic

January 10, 2004: Deadend Angels, Saxon Pub, Austin TX

lots of variety but all lame and flat, weird blend of drugs and religion references, obviously a recovering addict who was probably better when he was an addict

January 3, 2004: Cornell Hurd, The Broken Spoke, Austin TX

like 20 guys in the band-most stand around looking bored the majority of the time, boys have experience and it shows, dancing music-two step, jitterbug, waltz and other things I don’t want to know about
